In a lovely organic cotton by Plassard - I love this tea green shade, and the yarn is a delight to work with.
The pattern is Eva's Shawl, a freebie on Ravelry.
I think I'll stop adding more rows to the shawl, as it'll grow some more in the blocking process. I now want to find a pretty edging design for the border to add some interest (and a bit of a personal touch).
More soon! I just finished a lace top that turned out real nice (if I may say so ;)). Need to edit a few pictures before I can share it here with you.
I'm just back from a family weekend.
The pros:
- loved seeing my two beautiful nephews again (4 months / 3 years old), each growing in his own way
- had a great time with my siblings
- finally visited La Lainière de Wazemmes in Lille, which sells huge quantities of yarn at factory prices (Northern France used to be the main production site for yarns and textiles in France).
The con:
- discovered a sizeable part of my belongings, which have been stored in my parents' cellar since I left Paris last year, is ruined due to a leak they weren't aware of, that seeped in right under my boxes. Oops! Material stuff is just that - material; a few other things, though, can't exactly be replaced - things created, given, or fabric collected on such and such occasions. The stuff from the past 10 years of my life was stored in this cellar, and a chunk of it is now mere mildewed stench. Ah well, c'est la vie ;) Just makes you reflect how much what really matters lies elsewhere - in the inspiration that spurred these creations, and that is still very much there; in the love that incited the gifts. This is of course absolutely nothing when you think of what happened elsewhere not long ago...
Hope you all had a good weekend. I know I did - anyway :)

Oh, and someone certainly made sure she didn't get left behind.

Oh, what a shame! That reminds me I should be taking more pictures of the precious stuff - I do that to be able to let things go (small apartment), but tend to let it slide on the ones that are "safe".
Looks like you are right on track for making new treasures though - the shawl is beautiful!
Lovely shawl. Very pretty.
Beautiful shaw! I loved the design and color of yarn you picked! It's perfect for Spring. Sorry about the important items you lost. Your positivity despite your lost is refreshing and insightful:) Can't wait to see what you do next!
I love your shawl Isabelle, such a pretty colour and design :)
Sorry about your things getting ruined, how sad :( But as you said, it is just "stuff" at the end of the day. A shame, nonetheless.
Love that pic of PM in the suitcase - that's exactly the kind of thing that Thomas would do!
il est magnifique ton châle, bravo!

Beautiful shawl, Isabelle. My Kitty also jumps in the suitcase as soon as it comes out of the closet. Animals do have a way of letting their desires be known!
Oh how beautiful the shawl is!! and Miss Cutie is as cute as ever.
Lovely shawl. The color is so soft and very pretty.
That is very sad about your things being ruined but you do have the right attitude :)
Love the drape of your shawl in progress - so elegant!
sorry about your fabric. Your shawl is gorgeous.
Pretty shawl. The colour is the same as a RTW shawl like cardigan I have on today :)
Sorry to hear about the damage!
That shawl is GORGEOUS, Isabelle! Lovely color... and an edging will finish it off perfect. So glad you got to go home and see family... but sorry about some of the mishaps... :o( LOVE that photo of Miss Cutie. Cats will sleep anywhere... LOL! Happy Days ((HUGS))
Hmm, my Alix used to do the same thing with the suitcase! Now Coal does that, as if to say "Pack me too". Although I know he would not enjoy traveling as Alix did. The shawl is lovely...what a nice color choice.
It is your birthday soon, isn't it? I hope I am not too late already. Happy Birthday.
Hello my dear friend !
The shawl is turning out lovely. :) I have my first knitted scarf still on the needles but I've been looking at shawl patterns longingly.
I showed the photo of your kitty in the luggage to my husband across the room and he thought at first it was a giant cat on a sofa, LOL! It's such a sweet photo.
Very sorry to hear of the storage issues. It is sometimes hard to lose the physical reminders of good times. It sounds like your vacation was absolutely wonderful though. There really isn't much that can take the place of spending time with loved ones. :)
So sorry to hear about your things being ruined. :-( as much as they are just "things," it is hard to deal with them being lost! I'm glad the rest of your trip was pleasant, though.
I am knitting a shawl in Debby Bliss Baby Cashmerino - knits up beautifully - easy on the hands.
And Happy Birthday!!
She looks very comfortable laying in there.
Love the shawl. What a pity of your belongings, c'est la vie indeed, but it's hard to loose it like this all the same.
stunning
il est superbe ton châle ! Et le fil... évidemment il est parfait pour ce modèle ;o)
Your spring shawl looks beautiful!
I'm sos sorry to hear about your things... I am very attached to my things, so I believe I can understand exactly what you're feeling.
