Better

Hey there :)

No sewing to share, but I am starting to feel consistently better and maybe some of you were looking forward to knowing this. 2009 was such a tough year, and I guess what happened over Christmas was the last straw - I just couldn't take any of this any longer.

I do owe a few emails, and I'll get to them whenever my work (and rehearsals) allows it. Meanwhile, please no one feel I'm ignoring them or anything. This second semester is even busier than the first, so even though I think during the day of all the emails I ought to write (and more importantly, of the friends whom I owe said emails!), I usually crash too badly after work to put two coherent sentences together. So, I hope you know who you are - and you've been in my thoughts.

No sewing yet, just a bit of crochet thrown in whenever I have time for a bit of series watching at night (I love the way this crochet project is coming along, but am waiting to finish it all before sharing pictures here).
My latest series discovery while crocheting has been Mad Men, and it is giving me a serious craving for an early 1960s little shift dress. If I can manage to sew but one thing this winter, this'll have to be it!

Take care, everyone!

Isabelle, it's so lovely to see a post from you! :) I'm glad that you're feeling better and hope that work is going OK, even though it is busy. I've been thinking about you and glad that you have touched base today. Take care!

Good to hear you are feeling better. Take care of yourself. In Dutch we say "after rain there will be sunshine", and that will be the case for you too. Rain only takes a while to pass.

So good to hear from you again. I LOVE Mad Men. My family lived in Connecticut in the 60s and my father commuted to New York City (though not in advertising). I can remember many of the things seen on the show. You will look smashing in a 60s shift, though you should also consider something with a full skirt, too. The costumes on the show are very inspiring.

Good to see you back on the blog scene--hope you continue to find some joy in your days. Being busy can be a good thing, if you allow some time for yourself!

Looking forward to seeing your finished crochet project.

Good to know that you are back; sometimes you just have to take time for yourself. Your crocheting looks lovely and really love the color.

Welcome back! You know you have many concerned friends out here in cyberland. Stay healthy, get lots of rest, and the other things will take care of themselves.

I'm so glad to hear you're feeling a bit better! Isn't Mad Men fantastic? I'm convinced it's therapeutic, too.

So nice to see you back. I too compose many letters and e-mails in my head and none actually get written!
I hope things continue to improve for you in 2010.

I'm so glad that you're feeling a little better! (I've been lurking on your blog for several months, but haven't commented, so it must be a little like a stranger being glad for you - but I am!)

Glad things are looking up. I too just started watching Mad Men (on DVD) and love it. I remember the 60s (at least vaguely) so I'm not sure I will pursue that fashion, but WOW people sure did turn out, didn't they?!

Dear Isabelle,
So glad to hear that upbeat tone in your post. Look forward to seeing your new handy work and life being busy thats the best tonic to keep depressing thoughts away. So don't worry about writing we know you think about us and you are very much in our thoughts too. Take care dear. Gros bisous.

Hello my dear friend !
Je suis heureuse de lire que le moral remonte (contrairement aux températures ... il recommence à neiger !).
Je t'embrasse bien fort, une caresse à Lady Violet, et j'ai hâte de voir tes nouveaux ouvrages !

Hi, Isabelle! So very glad to hear you've turned a corner... I do hope things will be looking brighter as the days go. The good thing about bad patches is that they can't last forever. Wishing you all the best, my friend. Happy Days :o) ((HUGS))

I'm just glad to hear that you're feeling better, even if you are being kept too busy to sew!

Perhaps what you really need is to snuggle with Miss Kitty and watch episodes of Mad Men until the urge strikes.
