Still here! (and a peek at Vogue 8280)

Hello, everyone!
Nope, I haven't fallen off the face earth quite yet. My life is just a bit too busy right now to feel like posting, or reading blogs for that matter.
I do have several creations to show you... you know, whenever I find the gusto to take pics and comment on them.

Here's a peek at Vogue 8280, the Roland Mouret/Galaxy dress, which was finished last week; I had to take this with artificial lighting because the sun was down; unfortunately the colours came out all distorted. I'll do another photo shoot for you as soon as I have time to set the tripod in daylight. The dress is actually midnight blue.

I hope no one is feeling offended by my silence - I am not ignoring anyone of you, friends - just need a little time on my own, that's all. Hope you understand :)

Hoping this finds you all well.

je suis désolée pour la faute de frappe : il faut lire que vous êtes ravissante dans cette robe ! Pardonnez-moi, j'ai essauyé de l'écrire en anglais et ma traduction a été complètement ratée. Oh, pardon, mille fois.

gorgeous dress! perfect for your figure.

pardon my ignorance, but what is a "viva"? is it the big, hideously intense and intimidating oral exam part of the phd process?

Yes, what is the viva? I'm thinking it's what what blogger "mermaids" guessed? You'll shine, whatever it is.

I'm sorry for whatever is troubling your heart right now. Prayers for change from across the Pond.

Zo and Terri, yes, viva = PhD defence. Teri, you described it quite accurately :)

Thanks everyone!

Lovely dress on you - might be a little formal for the viva, but not for the celebration dinner once it's over. You'll do fabulously, fingers are crossed for you all over the world.

Lovely dress. It is getting winter and darker here, so getting good pictures in that light is also tricky. I think your pricture turned out well. Hope everything went well for you yesterday.

Lovely dress! I'm sure you will do very well at your viva. Many good thoughts coming your way.

Cindy said...

Ok just want to say that obviously your viva is already over (duh) so change the above to "I'm sure you DID well at your viva."

Bliss said...

I hope that 'in a mess' just means that you are busy or lost in focus now that you have finished your PhD, & not that you and Seb have broken up or anything dreadful like that. You've done all the hard work. The viva will go well, for sure. (((hugs)))

It's been much too long since I visited. Hope things are improving greatly and that the Viva went well (I'm sure it did).

We are now living in The Netherlands. Do you still get there on a regular basis or is Seb's year in Amsterdam behind you? If so that is wonderful as you can be together every day again. If he is still here perhaps we can meet the next time you visit. Just email me at megratdataviadotcom.

hugs,

Isabelle, I'm sorry things aren't going so well for you right now, but I can totally relate. Sometimes we just need some time to ourselves to "get away from it all." I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I do love checking in on you and reading your blog.
