I took lots of pictures of the Burda spring coat and shall write up the whole review tonight. Yes, tonight! Promise!
Since the coat review is going to be long, it seemed better to devote a separate entry to my future projects. And, hey, I need a little day-dreaming.
I plan on turning in my dissertation at the end of the month. The summer will still be very busy, as I am participating in a volume whose deadline is July 31st... besides which, of course, there'll be the final corrections to my dissertation.
But, things cannot be as crazy as they are now. I just won't be able to stand it. July shall be the month were I get back into the sewing groove!
Soooo... Guess who ordered patterns this week?
I know I have a lot of patterns that are still begging for my attention. However, you guys have been sewing a lot of cute and inspiring stuff lately, and, well, I just felt like a little treat to help me through this final crazy month - to help realize the end of the tunnel is in sight!
I placed my order through the Simplicity website... Their international shipping rates are reasonable (especially converted into euros, he he), and their staff efficient and kind... Way above Vogue's. I am not one to complain often about CS, but the staff at Vogue is bluntly insulting.

Here's what I got:
Simplicity 6774,
which I had to get after seeing Pirouette's version.

New Look 6470,
again inspired by Pirouette, couturière extraordinaire

New Look 6807

Simplicity 4076 -
can you believe I don't own this blockbuster pattern yet?
And so many of you have had such great results with it...

Simplicity 2891, for something girly and frilly. :)

I was craving cute and easy tops - you know, the kind that sews up in a few hours and that you get to wear over and over again. Über-rewarding.
Of course, I couldn't help tossing in a dress.
Boy, I can't wait!Of course, I couldn't help tossing in a dress.

Before I get back to work, here are a couple of pictures from le Père Lachaise, where we strolled again last Sunday.

The dress is New Look 6557 from two years ago, in the blue and white flowery version.
Hope this finds you all enjoying a nice day or evening. :)
Stay tuned for the Burda spring coat!

Good luck getting through this last tough month. As they say in Dutch 'de laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst' which literally translated says: 'the final weights are the heaviest'. I think you get the picture Isabelle.
You will have something wonderful to look forward to with all these lovely patterns.
Great pictures of le Père Lachaise. I loved visiting there many years ago.
Take care and enjoy to the fullest any free minute you have.
{{{hugs}}}

Dearest Isabelle, the end is most definitely in sight! I know that things have been really crazy for you, but the worst of it will be over before you know it now. :) Your pictures of le Père Lachaise are simply gorgeous. It looks like a very lovely place to take a summer stroll. I'm glad that you are making plans to sew again.
I am so glad to hear the end is almost near with your dissertation. What wonderful plans you have for sewing - you are such an inspiration!
