Done!

I can't believe it, but it's done! Not the thesis (ah, that won't be before a few months), but the Burda spring coat. I am so happy with how it turned out. And a little sad that it's all done, too.

I'll try and make pictures real soon, but for now, I have to rush. We have just decided that Miss Cutie/P'tite Mignonne and I would be spending the coming week at Seb's in Amsterdam. Everything is closed in Paris due to the two-week holidays that started a week ago, and this has made my work a bit, ah, difficult, and has made me turn a little insane. I should get more done over there than cloistered on my own here. P'tite Mignonne just got all her papers completed to travel around Europe (passport, rabies vaccination certificate, microchip). We did all this to prepare our probable extended stay in the UK next year, but it's coming in handy earlier than we thought. I am so happy at the thought of spending a whole week with Seb, where he lives! Even if we'll both be working, it will be nice to spend the evenings all three together.
Now I need to pack my stuff, and make us a couple of orange scarves in case we decide to take a break and go see Koninginnedag!

To make up for the wait, here are a couple more kitty-couturesque pictures I just had to take as the coat was coming along.

Who knows, you may see the coat in action direct from Amsterdam next week! ;)
Have a great week, everyone.

For some reason, I'm quite amused by the idea of your darling girl having a kitty passport! It's great that she'll be able to travel with you. Have fun in Amsterdam!

My dear friend,
I am so happy to read you again, and with good news like that ! A whole week in Amsterdam, what a nice way to get some fresh air ! And I'm sure your fluffy cat is really happy not to be left behind.
I wish you a wonderful week, and I hope a little sun, cause after this sunny week-end, the weather is bound to be less spring-like (oops, I'm not sure it's meaningful ...).
Big kisses for you and Seb, and a lot of hugs for P'tite Mignonne !

Ah, such a cute kitty. I traveled with my Alix to Florida and then New Jersey and had to get all her papers and vacination updated. She rides well in the car but did not like the plane at all. Luckily I could have her ride with me in a seat. Even though I had to pay $100 extra, I was certainly not going to have her shipped along with the baggage!
Enjoy your trip to Amsterdam.

You have to go visit Koninginnedag! It's madness, but fun and totally Dutch, a perfect day to celebrate the birthday of the queen.

have a nice week in our orange country

I remember the days when my cat used to help me sew too. He's 19 now and now prefers to nap most of the time, but he still will curl up on my lap while I sew.

Bon séjour à Amsterdam, Isabelle! Quand je vois P'tite Mignonne si près de ta machine à coudre, j'ai peur qu'elle ne se prenne la fourrure sous le pied de biche!

Well Miss Cutie certainly seems to be giving her approval by the looks of it and she looks so contended as though she knows she will be spending the weekend in Amstradam with you and Seb. Have a great weekend and look forward to seeing your coat.

Dear Isabelle,
so good to hear that you are spending some time with Seb and Petite Mignonne together in Amsterdam. You should not miss to visit Kantje-boord in Amsterdam to see their great variety of laces and lingerie-notions.
And definetely be prepared to celebrate the Koniginnendag....

It does look like you are having quite a bit of help there, they are so interested in checking everything out aren't they. Glad if looks like she's still doing fine after her earlier health scare.

How wonderful that you'll be able to have the extra time with Seb and that Miss Cutie can even go with you. I hope you have a fantastic time. Looking forward to seeing a picture of your coat as well when you get time.
