Since some of you kindly asked (thank you!), I am still alive! Just snowed under with work at the moment. No sewing for me this weekend... and the whole week has been insane. Next week will be just the same!
Here's where my sewing projects are right now - I'm using this list as a way to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Here's where my sewing projects are right now - I'm using this list as a way to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
- I did start and almost finished some pyjamas last weekend (Simplicity 5923). I promise to write up a review as soon as I've finished the neckline (that's all there's left to be done!). I am in great need of new pyjamas and really ought to finish them soon! These will come with a fun twist, you'll see :) although I certainly do NOT recommend the pattern for the pyjama tops.
- I also cut out New Look 6727, but want to get some lining for it. This dress/tunic is supposed to be unlined, but I don't like the idea, especially with our current weather and temps.

I want to make this as a short dress with bell sleeves, to be worn over a knit top and thick stockings. This is going to be different from my usual style, but I think it will be cute for weekends and casual occasions.
- I am waiting for a moka stretch fabric to make the infamous October Burda dress, and a beautiful jersey print for Simplicity 3678.
Can't wait to get those fabrics... and to have a little more time to sew! Hopefully, both will happen soon - or I shall lose my mind.
P'tite Mignonne has been feeling lost since Seb's departure and has been extra close to me. Given how close she already was, I didn't think she could be any closer - but she is. It's even a bit freaky sometimes. Whenever I'm home, she's hardly ever more than a metre away. What makes me sad is how she cries sometimes in the evening and looks for Seb everywhere in the flat (she is a very talkative and expressive cat). This being on our own somehow doesn't feel right to her either - she is so used to our being 3!

In closing, here are a couple of pictures of P'tite Mignonne/Little Cutie. I know some of you enjoy kitty pics as much as I enjoying seeing them on your blogs! :)P'tite Mignonne has been feeling lost since Seb's departure and has been extra close to me. Now back to work! Hopefully I'll manage to finish my work for today at 8 pm (haven't taken a break all weekend) and then I'll just chill out with my kitty in my lap :)
Friends, I hope your weekend was good! Have a great week, everyone!

You have some nice things going on sewing wise. I should have a pic of my new pants and top on very soon. I have to still put a button on the pants, probaly will do that tomorrow.
Your kitty is adorable and so sweet, Isabelle. Snoopy is exactly the same - very expressive/vocal. He cries when someone he loves leaves the house, and lets out a big purr when they return. You've gotta love kitties, huh? :)
I'm so sorry your weekend has been jam-packed - I hope the week brings some relief and that next weekend is everything that this weekend was not.
Sending big hugs!!
Good to hear from you. You certainly are busy!
My dear Isabelle, life in here has been busy too and I understand your desperation for having so little time to spare on your (our) passion! I feel the same way today: I had a few family issues to attend and a close friend came over so all my sewing was delayed (I still managed to post about it but I had the text read for days). Thank you for your kind words, they mean the world for me :o). I often think about you too and our short time together! I rally must get back to Paris!
P'tite Mignonne reflects her owner feelings; that happens often with cats: they develop strong and special bonds with their favorite people. She misses Seb and she senses that you miss him too. When she follows you around the house she is trying to make up for Sebs absence. She is as pretty as she is intelligent and sensitive!
Many (((HUGS))) and Love to you!
auuuughhhh i miss my kitty so bad. yours is beautiiiiful!
I wish you the courage to go on working hard even the season invites you to stay on a sofa with a hot chocolate :)
I wanted to work on my dress on Saturday afternoon but too tired todo anything :-/
Hello Isabelle,
your lines just sound quite sad...
I hope although life is so busy at the moment you are feeling well.
I wish that you will find some time to sew. And I really adore your cute cat. It is true what Tany says, cats mirror your own feelings...
Dear Isabelle, it must be very hard being away from Seb and cats are sensitive too and know that you must be missing Seb. Hope you find a bit more time to stitch soon. Take care.
{{{Isabelle and Little Cutie}}} I hope work quietens down for you. Lovely photo's.
Dear Isabelle,
It seems to me (reading your words) that you miss Seb quite a lot too. P'tite Mignonne is so... mignonne. Not only beautiful but the way she acts and expresses herself touched me immensely. I'm a huge cat lover...
Almost a week ago a friend was telling me (when I received some bad news) that things do happen for a reason and that reason exist, even if you can't see it right that moment. Whatever this "reason" is in the case of you and Seb being apart, I am sure it will bring you closer, make your relationship stronger and remind you what you mean for each other. Sometimes you just have to keep rediscovering the other one if you want your relationship to be "alive".
Bisous.
I'm away from home for school, but now I can't wait to get back to my sewing machine! I have a few project planned for holiday gifts.
You have some wonderful sewing projects planned! When Eric was away, the cats sat at the back door waiting for him. They would come and sit with me for awhile, and then go back to their post.
Your upcoming stitching projects look wonderful. The pajama's to me would be the most fun, I'll look forward to seeing what you've done with them.
Little Cutie looks very contented in the picture. However, they do get used to things being a certain way, and when they are not they stress. Warm wishes headed to you both as you deal with a heavy work load and Seb's being away.
Sue
Sorry to hear that your workload has kept you from sewing. You're missing Seb which transmits those feelings to your Little Cutie. She is sad as you are. Pets tend to pick up on those feeling easily. Your projects in the works look like a lot of fun. Hope you will be able to return to your sewing soon.
Little Cutie is such a gorgeous kitty! How wonderful that she loves you both so much. I hope work will ease and you will get a chance to sew!
i would love to see those pyjamas finished:) hope you found nice fabric for them......and the belle sleeves derss , i like it a lot :) so retro :)
gros bisous et courage pour le reste de la semaine....
HUGE HUGS.....
It's so nice, isn't it, to have another little creature who misses someone as much as you do!
My husband works out of town every second week, and my kitty and I have to keep each other from getting lonely.
You have picked some nice garments to make and I am anxious to see them done up. Take Care. Ann
Poor you and poor P'tite Mignonne. I bet you both miss Seb badly. I'm glad she's keeping you company though I don't suppose such a close cat helps with the sewing! Lots of cat hair everywhere :) I hope you get more time for sewing soon too.
Bises.
