We are back from our weekend in Normandy. What a lovely time and splendid weather we had!
Seb's parents recently bought a flat on the Norman seaside, so we stayed there, which was quite lovely and meant we were even able to take Lil' Cutie/P'tite Mignonne along. The flat felt even more comfortable and homey with our kitty. We are blessed with an easygoing cat, who doesn't complain in the metro or train, and is happy wherever she is provided she feels loved and safe. She quite enjoyed herself in the flat, which is larger than ours in Paris.
There weren't many people in the train to Normandy, so she even had a seat to herself :)

I was facing her, and you can see my book's pages at the bottom of the picture. I was planning on getting lots of stitching done (at last!), and had packed the Drawn Thread's Treasure Box. I was so looking forward to it! However, as I was getting ready to stitch, I realized that the thread count on the fabrics I'd taken along was too high for the silks to look nice and plump. Not to be able to stitch was a true disappointment; but I indulged in an orgy of reading to make up for it. That can never be bad. :)

I'll be back very soon with - believe or not - a stitching finish to show :)
There are also still three sewing projects in the queue (New Look 6643, sewn last spring; Simplicity 3867 (top), from last June; Simplicity 3775, from a few days ago). Neither of those fit the dressform, as they are close-fitting in the back, so they'll be reviewed as soon as Seb fancies a shooting session. :)
Hope you all had a nice weekend, and that your weeks are off to a great start.

Of course we didn't just lounge about on the beach all day, especially with that gorgeous weather (and considering what little sun we'd had the rest of summer). We had a great time walking around barefoot in the sand or the waves.

Such wonderful photos! I love the last one with the long view of the beach! How wonderful you live rather close to such a place. And that your kitty is a happy traveller :o) Glad you had some time to relax and enjoy. We'll just have to look forward to all your stitching & sewing another time! Happy week, dear friend ((HUGS))
Au vu de la plage je suppose que vous étiez en Basse-Normandie (il n'y a pas de galet). Il est vrai que le temps était agréable ce week-end. Je suis moi-même allée me promener en bordure de mer.
I could have been there in spirit Isabelle - it looks beautiful, just the spot for some R&R.
That picture of you sitting on the beach...I'm so jealous!!
It looks like you all had a lovely trip!
What a gorgeous view! I'm glad all 3 of you had a wonderful time!
Sounds like you had a great time! The view is beautiful!
I love the pictures of Normandy! You know how I am. What an amazing place to be able to visit, too, considering it's history.
OMG, Isabelle, you on the beach, so wish it were me! From Phoenix, AZ, to that wondrous view. I may make a screen save out of that! It is still 105+ here (aargh). Hope that time got rid of all the nerves of the last few months!
The beach looks so inviting, the photos are so captivating..looks like you had a wonderful trip.
oooooh what a lovely quiet beach , i would have loved to be there too....here because of the hot sun , am not able to enjoy what is left of a seashore (since they built on most of the others).....mignone deserves her name cause she is so cute and adorable cat :)
am happy that you had a great weekend up north.......kissesssssss
oooh great beach! I really know how it feels just to relax for a while. Unfortunately the psycho cats don't travel well. In fact they hate it, so we have a friend come over to catsit, when we are not around....
I had no idea that the Normandy coast was so gorgeous, Isabelle! Now I want to go! :)
depuis une dizaine de jours je vais quotidiennement à la plage...et il en sera encore de même aujourd'hui :o)
le modèle DT est superbe!
Thanks for sharing. Good for you that you had such a wonderful weekend :-) Ann
Glad to hear the three of you had a lovely weekend
What a beautiful bunch of pictures! You're a lucky girl Isabelle :) That beach looked spectacular!
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time in Normandy. And you're sure these pictures were taken *this* summer?
Reading is very good. Although stitching is wonderful, it does tend to eat up reading time, doesn't it?
Looks so peaceful

I have to agree about reading books :)
I don't think my kitties would travel so politely. One would yowl in her carrier, and the other would be nervous and hide under furniture at our destination. LOL We leave them at home and have a friend come by when we're out of town.
I'm glad you've had the time to play in the sand and the sun, what a nice way to spend a few days!
Looking forward to seeing your stitching update :D
Wonderful pictures Isabelle. Glad to hear the weather was so good. Sounds like the three of you had a great time.
Who said it always rains in Normandy? ;) I'm glad you had a wonderful time there, Isabelle. Normandy is so beautiful when it's sunny :)
P'tite Mignonne is a wonderful cat!
Thanks for the wonderful pictures :)
(((hugs)))
Looks like a great place to stay for a weekend and it is always nice when you can take your kitty along.
How relaxing and just beautiful weather to boot. Glad you all had a great time.
From the beautiful photos I can see you both had a wonderful time together! It's wonderful that Miss P'tite Mignonne was there to share your good moments!
Many Hugs from Portugal where the weather is much better now (it feels like Summer, finally!)
That beach looks wonderful and what a cute picture of you deep in that book - is it Potter, perhaps? I thought I recognized the size of it. Your cat is darling but if I took my cat on the train, she'd be a dead weight and not so serene looking as yours. Ha!

It looks like you had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Wow! Many of us state side are "drooling" over your holiday real estate. We are happy for you and Seb, and your relationship. Your wedding dresses were so beautiful! How special that your siblings were able to provide the music and accompany you on your solo piece. Congratulations!
What a lovely weekend! I am glad your baby survived your trip well! Sorry you could not stitch - but truly, reading is just as wonderful, especially on the beach :-)
Wonderful photos, and it sounds like you had a lovely time. My boys are not quite so easy going as your little sweetie!
