The Focus on Finishing blog is hosting its third interactive monthly class this weekend.
This month, we'll be learning how to make a bourse...and I'll have the honour of teaching you!
This month, we'll be learning how to make a bourse...and I'll have the honour of teaching you!
Even if you haven't had the time to stitch a square design, you can still practice by using a couple of pretty coordinating fabric (instead of using a stitched piece + a fabric square). It will still make a pretty bourse! :)

This bourse features a part of Morning Berries by LHN.
It's to be a giftie for a friend.

Come over to learn a very easy and gratifying finishing method!
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

I love the design you've chosen for inside your bourse :) I plan to make one as soon as my fabric arrives off the boat!
The time has flown! Can't wait. :D
Hurray! I'll have to see if I have anything suitable in my finishing pile.
Your Bourse looks beautiful Isabelle!
this may seem a dumb question but... Will your class still be available on line...later on? it's going to be a busy weekend for us (with dinner parties)... :-(
Don't worry Patty, the class will remain online on the FonF blog! You'll also be able ask me questions even after the weekend, of course. Hugs to you and enjoy your festive weekend! ♥ (ps: there's no dumb question - as English teachers we both know that, don't we? ;))
Love how you have adapted this design for your bourse, it looks really good and I bet your class is great. Good luck (not that I think you need it) :-))
Have a nice weekend!
I am looking forward to your class! That is a pretty biscornu - your fabric works so well with the design!
Biscornu? What biscornu? *scratching my head in puzzlement*
Your bourse is lovely!
OOOH! This reminds me - I never posted the gift that you made me and it's a bourse right? I hope you have a great weekend!
Neat! It reminds me of a vintage purse I saw recently and wanted to copy. I'll pop over there once I get home!
Isabelle, I'm stitching my fingers to the bone to get my stitched piece ready!!! Perhaps I've been a bit over-ambitious... :o) I haven't given up yet, so hopefully you'll see my bourse this weekend (probably Sunday evening one minute before midnight... LOL)! Thank you for doing this, I think it's wonderful!!
I love your bourse, and you picked a great pattern for the inside! Cute!
Good luck with the class, your bourse looks great. I've missed so much, you've been so busy! You've had a birthday and annouced your wedding whilst I was away!!! Wishing you all the best and congratulations :)
BTW I love hearing about your 'couture' just as much as your stitching!
Oh...lovely! You did a superior job with your directions! It's really spectacular! Thank you!!!
I love your bourse. And I read the instructions for making it, so easy to follow, thank you! Now I know what I can make for my friend as a thank you gift for help she has given me!. Thank you for the idea. I love it.
Love your tutorial Isabelle. You are so very sweet to take time from your busy schedule to do this for us.
Wish I could start on a bourse RIGHT NOW but I want to stitch something just for this purpose. I'm so happy your lesson will still be available after this weekend.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Your bourse is lovely, I'll have to check out the tutorial. I'm not much good with sewing, but maybe this would be something I could follow along.
Sue
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!
Love the bourse, the design you've used inside and your thoughtful finishing... I've never made one, but would like to try sometime. Though, you know, my finishings skills are notorious!!!
:p Hugs, Deb
Dear Isabelle,
Just found the time read your blog and wow this tutorial is wonderful and I do like the Bourse. Makes me want to try it out. Who knows I might become brave enough.
Your Bourse is just beautiful, Isabelle! I love the design you choose for the inside and your fabric for the finishing is perfect! I did not have a chance to join in this weekend as I was working and trying to catch up on some gift stitching... but I will give it a go once I get *caught up*! :-) Thanks so much for doing this for us... :-)
