The Easter Vigil went well. I was very nervous at first, but I felt "carried", so it seems my nervousness didn't show after all and my voice was OK (at least, that is what people told me - boy did I feel overwhelmed with their kindness at the end of the celebration!). Thank you for your support! The whole celebration (it lasted 3 hours) was beautiful and made me so happy.
Yesterday morning, I took the train to Lille to spend some time with my family. We celebrated my brother's birthday. I cannot say I came home to Paris perfectly happy though - my father's health has us very worried. He's smoked since he was 14 and he is now 56. He now constantly has colds, which turn into bronchitis, and his emphysema is getting worse and worse. You should think that with 2 of his children being doctors, and all of us being so concerned, and a beautiful grandson now, he'd know better! :(
Anyway - we did have a good time together. Robin has grown so much, and he is such a happy baby! He's laughing all the time. He'll be 5 months next Sunday.
He was seated right next to me at the table... Let us say I didn't eat much of the Sunday lunch - I was too busy with him ;)

By the way, I realized most of you may think spontaneously that Robin is pronounced with the in pronounced like the English preposition, "in". It's actually pronounced with the typically French nazalised sound that you find in the French "copain" (friend), and which you don't have in English. Robin est mon copain rhymes.

A new season (be it meteorological, or spiritual), is conducive to new projects, right? Especially when Easter coincides with the true arrival of spring, as it has over France.
I just started a design for the bourse tutorial that will be held next month on the Focus on Finishing blog. I managed to stitch in the train! That hadn't happened in a long time. I'm stitching the top part of LHN's Morning Berries (the tree and bunnies, which will be a square piece), and it is very sweet. I plan on stitching more of it tonight.
My other new project is a sewing one (again!). One of the liberty fabrics I bought in London in January is being prewashed right now. It is a beautiful flowery lawn, in my favourite tones:

Speaking of birthdays... This made me realize that my birthday was not so far away. Just in case any of you were considering sending me anything - not that I am expecting anything at all, it would be sheer arrogance, but better be safe than sorry ;) - I have a favour to ask. I would really like none of my friends to send me anything this year. Please, don't take this the wrong way. You know I have resigned myself not to send birthday gifts this year - it just wasn't realistic anymore. I would feel terrible receiving something while I'm not able to send anything for birthdays. I really mean it - I don't need any gift to feel blessed in my friends! True friendship doesn't need any gifties, so please don't send me anything. My friends make me happy throughout the year, not just on my birthday Hope you have a lovely, sunny, happy week.

So glad you had such a wonderful time with your family Isabelle and that the Vigil went well :) Little Robin is really growing up!
I'm going to respectfully ignore the "no birthday presents" thing, if you don't mind ;) :)
Can't wait to see your bourse - I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!
Take care my friend {{{{{hugs}}}}}
I think it's a wonderful time to start new projects. Congratulations on your singing at the Vigil - I am sure it was lovely. The Aubergine dress is gorgeous - what a fabulous seamstress you are!
I bet you sang beautifully at the Vigil, just like an angel :)
Your little nephew is just adorable!
And I'm sure your new projects will be simply stunning!

I am so happy to hear that you had a lovely time with your family :) That in itself brings a smile to my face :)
Me too...can't wait to see your bourse :)
What a lovely weekend! Can't wait to see your new dress!
sounds like a lovely time with your family - and Robin is already almost 5 months old? my goodness that time has flown by!
I absolutely love the dress. I think it looks beautiful and is so flattering!! Also I bought the reversible bag - I LOVE IT. Your nephew is adorable... I love, love, love babies - he's too cute.
Sorry to hear about your dad - those situations are so frustrating... {{hugs}}
The English indefinite article 'an' is probably the nearest sound we have to the French 'in' sound.=)
Oh, language is fascinating, isn't it? I'm not sure which is more interesting, language or needlework...... Taking votes now!!!!
Bisous,
Elisabeth=)
Robin is getting so big, I can see why you'd have been having so much fun enjoying him you wouldn't have had much time to eat. :)
Morning Berries is such a cute pattern, looking forward to seeing a picture when you post one.

What a darling nephew you have. I am so glad you got a chance to enjoy him, and I totally know what you mean about paying more attention to him than to eating. That's what I do as well any time my little grandson is around. I never knew how much fun little boys could be until my grandson came along.
I hope your father is okay. Glad you had a great Easter, and that new Vogue dress will look lovely, as usual.
Glad you had a wonderful Easter vigil. Robin is so cute :)
Looking forward to the bourse tutorial!
I am glad you had a good time with your family. Robin is adorable! Thanks for the correction on how to pronounce his name:)
Cute photo's of Robin, he's such a big boy now. Glad to here you had a good Easter.
Oh Robin is so cute I just want to squeeze those little cheeks! I think that fabric will make a beautiful dress! Can't wait to see it :)
I'm so glad your Easter Vigil went well! And your dinner companion looks very pleased to be sitting next to his beautiful auntie!
I think I understand about Robin's pronunciation. Those are adorable photos. Does he had a stork bite on his forehead? My son had one on the back of his neck which faded a lot as he grew. So precious. I love my nephews and niece so much!
Glad you had a wonderful time with the family. The Aubergine dress is perfect and so lovely.
Robin has indeed grown..very adorable, wish I could hug him :D :D
What a cutie!!! Can't believe it's already been 5 months. Time just whooshes along, doesn't it? Precious pictures of you both. He's lucky to have a such a loving aunty.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the Vigil. It has so much significance for you and I wanted everything to be perfect for you. :) Robin looks like such a perfect, joyful little doll. I bet he smells nice, like little ones do, doesn't he?
I will respect your birthday wishes, even if only because I don't have time to put anything together for you. Maybe a mid-year RAK would be more of an attainable goal. :)
I'm so sorry to be so behind reading your blog...but that is just it...I like to read it! I have got some time now :-)
I'm pleased to hear the Vigil went well for all your first nerves! Sounds like you had a lovely time again with your family, how could you not with the gorgeous baby Robin. I think he is getting even cuter if that is possible!
I do also love the dresses you are going to make and think it is so nice your Dad takes an interest in your sewing hobby. He certainly knows what will suit you and I love your choice of fabrics. I'm a pinky person for 'things' but I love to wear blues.
