Hi friends! :)
Boy, I am sooo behind on what I was planning to blog about. Now that I'm done teaching (and grading!) for the whole year, I've been working my little heart out on my PhD research... and still haven't told you about any single gift I made for my family for Christmas!
Here's the cotton tunic I sewed for my little sister Hélène:

(from a French pattern - Citronille)
Hélène loves her tunic, which is a relief! She's pretty fussy to sew for, but I thought that fabric and that pattern would suit her complexion and style well. She told me she now wears it whenever she's feeling blue... Which is pretty often at the moment. :( I'm worried about her and pray and hope that she'll be happier real soon.
There are still two cute Winter pieces I stitched in late December that I haven't shared with you... I promise to post about them soon.

I almost forgot! I started a personal challenge. Running 100 kms on the elliptical by April 1st. Some make it 100 miles, but since I walk/take the metro to go everywhere, I already walk an average of 3 kms (2 miles) a day, and won't include that into the count (wow, that should be an extra 150 miles/225 kms by April 1st!).
I'm not doing this to lose weight - just to keep fit and feel better. My elliptical was sorely neglected during the whole first semester because I was so insanely busy; but my lifestyle should - must! - get somewhat more balanced this semester.

Wishing you a happy Sunday and a lovely week!
It is wonderfully sunny and still unbelievably mild here in Paris...
Totally bizarre, but undeniably nice!

I started on Friday...
There! It's said. There's no going back now ;)

What a lovely tunic for your sister! The fabric is very pretty :)
Good luck with the running thing - walking is about as fast as I go ;)
Beautiful tunic! The fabric you picked is just lovely. :)
The tunic is very pretty. You did a beautiful job.
Beautiful Tunic, Isabelle :) You are so talented with your sewing :)
Can't wait to see your Redwork Exchange :)
hugs to you :)
The tunic is very pretty, I really like the neckline on it. Good luck with your running challenge, it sounds quite ambitious (sp?). I recently started an exercise class that I'll try to get to twice a week, as I'm hoping to do something to make me healthier (but also to try and lose some weight also) this year too.

Wow - good luck in April! I am proud of you!
Lovely tunic! I hope your sister feels better soon...
I am admirative on your new fitness commitment! Bon courage!
Take care!
Very pretty tunic Isabelle, I love those kind of necklines. I hope your sister gets to feeing better soon.
Wonderful work on the tunic! I'm so glad that she liked it. She's the one who lives in Paris, as well, right? I'm sorry that she is continuing to have a tough time and I hope that she pulls out of it soon. I will keep her in my thoughts. Good for you for establishing some fitness goals. I think that I should do the same. :) Have a good week!
The tunic is lovely Isabelle :) I hope your sister feels happier soon - maybe it's just winter blues. I hope so :)
Good work on the fitness goals - I need to exercise more too! :)
Love the tunic Isabelle - you have such a good feel for pattern and design. Lovely!
The tunic you made for your sister is lovely - looks like it would be really comfortable.
I need to get going on my Redwork exchange piece too - finishing up a couple of other exchange pieces for January first - then on to February!
The Tunic is great and I can see why your sister likes it so well. The exercise program you are starting will actually add to your energy allowing you to get more done than when you weren't exercising. So no lost time. Congrats on making the start.
this tunic is great and it looks very comfy!
Congratulations on your sewing and running challenge! Do you only include walking or only "running"? Ann.
Ann, I only include what I'll be running on the elliptical :)
