Back to normal

Hello friends,
Thank you for your good thoughts. Everything is OK now. I had a health scare last Thursday and Friday, but the doctors assured me it couldn't become malignant. All I have now is a pretty sore b**b - but that should soon fade into memory. A definite advantage to living in Paris is certainly to be able to get medical appointments at a few hours' notice! I went to the GP in the early morning and was treated by a specialist in the afternoon, right after my classes. It didn't even affect my weekend plans at my parents' in Lille.

Anyhow, that kind of experience sure puts things into perspective.
Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts - they did comfort me a lot.

~*~
I was so happy to see Robin again this weekend (and the rest of my family too, of course!). He has grown 4 centimetres (1.5 inches) in 2 weeks! He's incredibly alert, too (well, not on this picture but I'm still waiting for pictures from my parents' and siblings' cameras - then you'll see what I mean)

I was so happy to hold him again.

Being from the North of France, our holiday traditions are influenced by our neighbours in Northern Europe. Christmas is the big day to us, but we do celebrate Sainte Catherine (for the girls) and Saint Nicolas (for the boys). No age limit to that :) It is our way to enter into the Christmas spirit. The idea is to give a small, cute giftie to each sibling.
I got lovely cute gifties (tea, soap, a bracelet incredibly like the one in the wonderful set Jenna made for her sister - and I was so drooling over it! Jenna, do you talk to my sisters behind my back or what? ).

Robin got lots of cute gifties.

Apart from Robin's bath wrap, only one of my gifties was handmade: a brooch for Catherine, my older sister. She needs some to close her nursing tops. I know she was wishing for a coloured one, to go with her black tops.

That one was a test to see if she likes that style; but since she really seemed happy with that one, I'll be making her more for Christmas (but shush!). This one was made from a kit, and a lot of fun. It uses felt, beads, sequins, and ribbons.

~*~
I didn't go online at all this weekend - I needed a break, you know? I'll catch up on blogs and emails this week (so don't worry if I don't comment/reply straightaway, friends - it doesn't mean you're not in my thoughts!).

Wishing you all a lovely week!

He's just so sweet! I'm glad to hear that you are okay, but I'm sorry you're in pain, and that you had a scare. I know how that can be. Take care.

You seem quite at home with a babe in arms, Isabelle ;)

Glad to hear you're ok, if a little sore. I wish they were that quick here in the UK.

What a scarey time you had. I hope you're not sore for too long and I'm so glad it wasn't anything serious.

Robin is just adorable! He's changed so much already since those first few pictures you put on your blog.

Lovely brooch :o) I bet your sister loved it.

I think you had a great time with al the family! Your way of celebrating our 'sinterklaas' is great too. It's 'smaller' but the thought counts. We're having celebrations like christmas I guess, but WITH poems and funny things.

Robin looks great! With you and with his mom! Enjoy this time when he's still a newborn.

good luck with everything

I'm so glad everything turned out ok, how scary that must have been. Robin is adorable, isn't it amazing how quickly they grow? The brooch is very pretty and festive, I can see why she'd enjoy wearing it.

Oh, I'm so glad that everything's okay, Isabelle! I'm even more grateful that you have easy access to wonderful healthcare. :) Robin looks at home in your arms, as always. He's going to be a very loved child in your family. I guess my telepathic communications about the jewelry made it to your sisters, eh? ;) Have a wonderful week, my friend!

Bonne semaine.

So love the pictures. You look like you're at total peace with him in your arms. Glad your health scare is over and nothing serious. Got a kick out of the way you wrote sore b**b":) Speaking of closing nursing tops, tell Catherine if she wants to spare some of what's showing in this photo, I'll pay FedEx the exorbitant fees to have 'em shipped here. Goodness! I'm jealous!

I had just noticed your link has disappeared from my blog, must have happened when I did my changes. You will be re-installed very soon, so sorry about that. I'd better check if anybody else is missing!!

Dropping by to say hello and that you can say the 'b' word on your blog. I'm at the mammogram age and mention mine. Anyway, glad you are healthy and loving your little nephew. Just wait until next year when he can sit and play with you and his gifties! It won't be that long! : )

Hi Isabelle! I am sorry you had to experience a big fear for your health -and relieved that it is not too serious... It happened to me with my brain when my son was nine months old and I imagined the worst, thinking he would have to grow without his mom and all... and I had to wait a few weeks for relief...
Thank you for sharing the happiness around baby Robin. It is exquisite...
Lots of hugs!
