Thank you for all your kind comments. I've been sleeping much better this week. I thought it would be hard to sleep while Seb was away (he left on Monday morning and came back yesterday), but that's forgetting the sweet kitty who sleeps close to me every night - and next to my desk all day ;)
Besides, I've reintroduced at least an hour of stitching or sewing before going to bed, and that's helped significantly.
(More on this project here)
I'd better be efficient if I want to make all my commitments.
I sewed up another of Sylvie's stitched squares for the Virades charity sale:

(I sewed it up a few weeks ago but turned out of thread when it only needed hemming):
Doris couldn't help including some of her wonderful tea (she'd already sent me some of it a while ago), and two skeins of DMC Variation - "to keep the seamstress going".

I'd better be efficient if I want to make all my commitments.
I sewed up another of Sylvie's stitched squares for the Virades charity sale:

Initially I'd planned to make a true girl's purse, complete with lining, pockets, etc.; but I had to reconsider my goals - or I'd never manage to meet all my commitments.
I also put the finishing touches to my first jersey T-shirt:(I sewed it up a few weeks ago but turned out of thread when it only needed hemming):

My apologies for the picture's poor quality - it's the best I could do, photographing myself. The only full-length mirror in the flat is 20 cm wide.
The fabric and pattern were a birthday gift from my friend Bernadette. It's a bit large, but it looks good on a pair of fitted jeans.
Finally, here is my progress on the Lavender Rose Case SAL:

I have now completed the back and front of the case. All this over-one was time-consuming, especially for someone so short-sighted. I do love the design, colours and verse though - aptly enough, I'll be teaching Romeo and Juliet next semester! ;) Karen has been making great progress on the case - she's stitched almost all the accessories. I think Nadine is stitching this on weekends; and I'm not sure whether Anne has started yet...
Everyone have a lovely Sunday!

I'm glad you're managing to set aside some time for you to stitch/sew Isabelle :)
The little Felicity Wishes pillow is very sweet and I love the jersey top.
You're making wonderful progress on the sewing case - it looks really gorgeous! I find I can only spend so long stitching over one, so I'm only working on this one about 3 days per week. I think I'll be done this month though :)
Great progress on your sewing case Isabelle and the pillow and jersey top are both lovely
I'm finally back, Isabelle! And yours is the first blog I've looked at. Love your recent projects and will follow the links to learn more about them. Thanks! :)
You needlebook looks spectacular. I can't wait to see more:)
I showed my little ones the picture of the princess pillow and they were drooling over it--- so pretty! I can't wait to see the finished sewing case.
I am glad you are sleeping better - my kitties always help me with that too :-) I adore your T-Shirt and think it fits you just right! Awesome job - what gorgeous fabric you friend you sent for that! I am looking forward to seeing the baby jackets!!! And, your lavender rose case is progressing just perfectly - you have been very busy!!!! I am glad stitching at night helps you!
Glad that you are sleeping better, I find stitching before bed relaxes me too and helps me to sleep. Love your T-Shirt its really nice and progress on Lavender Rose is good, its such a lovely piece.
You have shared some lovely pics today Isabelle, and your sewing case is progressing nicely. I too find that by stitching at night before heading off to bed, I'm more relaxed :)
Lavender Rose case looks so good, it is such a pretty piece. I love all your sewing, very impressive. And your kitty is gorgeous. Ann.
I'm sorry to say I've got as far as ironing the fabric, and that's it ... unfortunately life got in the way with feeling ill, and then I ended up spending the last of my time off doing home improvements very unexpectedly. I'll still be stitching this, but probably won't be able to make a start until the first week of September 'cos I'm now way behind with my exchange stitching :( I'll catch up with you all, though, even if you're all finished by then ;)
you've been busy... have I told you lately that you're a very talented girl? :) *hugs*
Good progress on all your creations. Enjoy! Ann.
You are so generous with your skills. Making jackets for the Lebanese refugee babies sounds like a very worthwhile effort. I'm very glad to hear that you are sleeping better. Love the pillow and your new top! It looks great on you. :) Your progress on the Lavender Rose sewing case is impressive. I'm not sure I could do all of that over one. I've never tried, but you are tackling it like a pro! Have a great week, my friend!
Dear Isabelle,
Voilette is looking very relaxed there and I am glad you could get some sleep in her company.
Your projects are all awesome as always. Take care. Talk to you soon.
You always produce such amazing things, Isabelle! And how sweet to be making jackets for Lebanese babies now too. It looks like your kitty is very good company while you are on your own.
Cats are always such wonderful & relaxing company.
Love all your latest projects. The sewing case's theme is certainly very appropriate since you're teaching Romeo & Juliet next semester. I remember how much I loved studying it in high school.
Margaret
Wow Isabelle you have been really busy - you have so many talents!
Isabelle, your blog is probably the most inventive one I know! It's always such pleasure to read it!!!
Hugs to you and Violet!
I love your t-shirt Isabelle and the lovely pillow you made.
Hi Isabelle, so much to read on your site - its so great to catch up on your news! I really like the colours of your T-Shirt, it is very attractive (but then again, a great model LOL!) - great top to wear with jeans or a nice skirt. I love all your latest projects, as busy as ever I see. I have just had 3 hours of research at the Uni library so am now enjoying a leisurely browse on some blogs just to re-energise myself. {{Big Hugs}} Ali xxx
