Friends, I'm sorry I've been so silent this week. I realize I need to take a blogging break. Things haven't been too well here, and when I'm sad, I'm just not in the mood to talk. But please, don't worry. I am hopeful that things will get better.I did make 3 dresses though, since my last entry. One dress on Saturday, one on Sunday (that's when this picture was taken), and one I made on Monday and Tuesday evening. They're all blue. I love them all.
I'll be wearing the third one at my sister's wedding in Lille tomorrow. It's not "really" a wedding, as they didn't want to get married; but they are expecting a child (which was planned!), and they have realized that it would be legally safer for the baby if they were married. They insist that it'll be minimalist (a civil marriage obviously, as they're not believers), since it is not at all what they would have chosen for themselves. Anyway, it's an opportunity for our family to get together, and that's what matters to them - and therefore, to us all. I'm just grateful that they are so happy together - I have the utmost love and admiration for my brother-in-law, and I don't think my sister could have chosen a better man. I am grateful that he is part of our family, he truly is a wonderful brother.
It's been too hot to stitch lately - and we haven't had the time to photograph the dresses... I'm sorry. To make up for the lack of pictures, here is how poor fluffy Violette tries to deal with the heat:
She's lying on the floor against one of the bookcases (yes, it's not really tidy, because there just isn't enough room anymore on the shelves). If you know a little French, you might find a very funny detail. I didn't plan it at all and actually realized it when I uploaded the pictures to the computer. Talk about serendipity. (That's a precious English word, for which there is no exact equivalent in French!)
Well, Seb and I shall be off to Lille in a few hours. I hope you'll have a nice weekend... Hopefully next week will be happier here.

You don't need an excuse to post photos of the lovely Violette! What a beautiful girl - I never tire of seeing photos of her. It is good to know that she is, indeed, a cat! I don't know much french, but I was able to read that - too funny!
Ah, dear Isabelle, I can so relate. I've been very down lately, too. I hope that this weekend will jumpstart your spirit and give you the energy you need to feel positive again. :) Congratulations to your sister and new brother-in-law!

Sweet Isabelle. It just isn't fair that someone who makes so many other people so happy should be feeling sad herself. I hope that the celebration of your sister's union and the change of scenery will help brighten you (beautiful) spririt.

Sorry to hear you are down... I hope that it passes quickly, you have so many wonderful things in your life to be happy for... That said we all do get a little down from time to time and those are the times when we need our cat. No one else is as sympathetic. :)

Sorry to hear that the week past has held sadness for you. I hope the wedding will be the beginning of many happy times down through the years ahead. How wonderful that a new little life is on the way too. Outside of being 'born again' and receiving Christ as our own Saviour, I think a new little life is just the greatest miracle.
