Happy May Day!

As in many countries, today is Labour Day; but in France, May Day is also the fête du Muguet - guys give Lilies of the Valley to their loved ones. It is considered the flower of happiness.

Thank you Seb for those pretty, dainty bells...
I put them on the window sill (outside), because those flowers are toxic for kitties.

I do feel very happy today, as these days were supposed to be a much-dreaded migraine time... But I only had one on Wednesday and then - nothing! Not a hint of a headache since then. What a blessing!

Happy May Day everyone!

You've just educated me...and given me another good reason to buy flowers. Lily of the Valley is another name for Jesus. Reminds me of His gentleness and their bowed-down heads remind me of His humility. Good to hear you are headache free!! That IS a blessing.

I love Lily of the Valley :) Happy May Day to you too! The weather is cold here too and has been wet today, but the sun is shining now at least! Glad you're headache-free too - that's great news {{{Hugs}}}

Wow, congrats on the limited migraines!!! I love your muguet! I noticed a few days ago that mine did not even seem to come up this year... I wonder if a deer or other beastie ate them :-(

So glad the migraines are staying away. Seb did a good job picking that beautiful flower.:) (I didn't know they were poisonous for kitties; thanks so much for that info!)

What a gorgeous picture of your Lily of the Valleys. We have them growing around our home outside but I don't think any have opened thier dainty bells yet, I'll have to check. What a lovely meaning they have, I never knew that =). I appreciate your comments about praying to God and am glad you don't pray to saints. Jesus said, " no man cometh to the Father but by me" I hope you have asked Jesus to be your Saviour personally as I have ...smile. We pray to Jesus, he goes to God on our behalf.Hebrews chapter 7:24 to 28 talks about this. This has been a challenging week (online)and I am tired out. Today I have finished a pretty bit of tatting from a 1946 pattern book. I'm going to send it off to someone who blessed me with a pin-keep I admired plus an altered CD and a vintage hankie plus!! a beautiful red & white vintage crochted potholder which I think I'll frame for the sunroom or maybe the kitchen. ~~I so enjoy visiting your blog and hearing about your life and kitty and needlework. I started a redwork pattern this afternoon before putting a roast in the oven for supper. Tonight is prayer meeting, picture us kneeling in our little country church in the mountains offering our praise and petitions up to our Heavenly Father. I will think of you in your beloved Paris, doing the same, perhaps we will be praying for one another as well as for our loved ones and those suffering bereavement and physical infirmities. I hope you have a wonderful week-end, with no headaches at all and much fun!
