Hello again!
Our French sewing group has been hosting an exchange for Easter. Everyone had to wait till Easter to open her package, and here is what I made for my secret partner:

Although this was a sewing exchange, I knew that my partner enjoyed stitching as well, so I stitched the Spring bluebird freebie by Waxing Moon designs, and added it to the front of a little bag I made using one of the fabrics that dear Becky sent me last February (thank you Becky! Your pretty fabrics keep inspiring me
).
I haven't received my gift yet, but I now know that it is coming from very, very far away... The Reunion Island. I feel very lucky as it is coming from a lady I appreciate a lot. So I shall be patient!

(this grey photo gives you an idea of the very dull weather we've been having in Paris...)
Yesterday I baked a few fondants aux chocolat for Easter, following my good friend Laure's excellent (French) recipe. Made with Normandy butter, whose salt crystals added an interesting flavour to the dark chocolate, they were truly luscious (and we still have two left for today!).

Seb and I had a fabulous afternoon yesterday. Since he finally read Pride and Prejudice while we were in Morocco, we watched the BBC adaptation yesterday, to which I am very partial. I confess I must have seen it nearly 10 times (about as many times as I've read the novel), and it never pals on me. What a treat to finally watch it with Seb - especially as he highly enjoyed it as well!
While watching the DVD, I stitched and actually finished a Birthday gift, which I'd started in great haste when we got back from Morocco and I learnt that we would not celebrate my older sister's birthday in two weeks after all, but next Sunday! (her Birthday is on April 29th). I'm so relieved that I managed to finish her April needleroll well in time!

I left out a few details that would have been "too much" for my sister's taste.

This shan't be finished as a needleroll, but shall get framed - I know my sister, and she'd be afraid a needleroll would gather too much dust.
So much for my second post of the day... And I still want to show you a few gifties that were received by American friends while I was in Morocco. Tomorrow perhaps?

What a gorgeous finish! And the Wee Bunny is so cute! Thank you so much for the link to that site with the pattern for it--- I have to try my hand at that for the girls! :)
Your sister's gift is gorgeous - she's going to love it! Is this the same sis for whom you made the quilt?
I'd be happy to share our sun - this has been the first day of real spring weather we've had. It's been COLD lately!
I've traveled through N. Carolina and it's a lovely state - very gracious, open people and pretty landscape (though I am partial to Maine's rocky mountains & seaside).
Hope you'll get some sun, soon!!
You do such beautiful work, Isabelle! Your needlework is just lovely - your sister is a lucky girl!
I just love the gift for your sister. You are so thoughtful; it's more important to you that the recipient's tastes are respected than that your handwork is shown off. I admire that. Please pardon my ignorance, but what is a needleroll? And I am one of the American friends with gifties of yours to post on MY blog. I will do that this evening!
I have much to do today!
Thanks for the nice commentsa about my Ben on my blog. And as for the flowers, I thought Joel was going to hand me dandelions, so I was extra tickled that the violets matched my nail polish. Funny little detail!
One more thing...could you ship me a couple of those chocolate thingies? Mmmmm!
Sounds like you had a great weekend! Your chocolate treats look so delicious! And your needle roll gift is lovely as is the spring bag. You are just one busy young lady! :D
It is lovely, Isabelle! I'm sure your sis will love it. And your choc treats look yummy ! yum! yum!
Oh, Isabelle! Those chocolates look scrumptuous - yum!

Your site is a treat for the eyes, Isabelle! I have just received your kindest comment. Thanks, and this word has all its sense for me! You are a wonderful sensitive kind person.
Your sister's present is so beautiful! I wish I had a stitching sister!
Lots of hugs!
Wonderful job on the bag that you sent for the easter exchange and an even lovelier job on the piece for your sister! I like the modifications that you made to the design and I'm sure she's going to love it. :)
Good Morning Isabelle, your sister's gift is exquisite. I love how delicate it is, and her name stitched on it makes it even more special. The whitework is lovely too, she should be loving this! I marvel at how much you get done...and how often too! I have my little stacks of treasure's to stitch here and there but after I get done with my cello practise and get some housework done, alas...I'm tired out. Sometimes by then, my eyes do not want to focus also. I've read a wonderful book last week however...smile. It is titled.."Remember the End" by Agnes Sligh Turnbull... copyright and first printing in 1938 by The MacMillan Company, New York. I can't vouch for all her books but this one carried my heart along with my eyes. Agnes is a historical writer. I could start reading her book again right now. Once you get past the prologue, its soooo good. Warm wishs for a wonderful day to you...and thank you for visiting me and leaving a word behind for me to know you have been by...smile. You are right, I have been so busy with our daughter and her family. Our grandson is a dynamo! He must be watched constantly and is used to doing pretty much as he pleases. As adorable as he is, it made me ever so thankful our children are adults now and my days are stress free and tranquil...smile. Now to get the house cushions all off and washed up! He dragged them about doing belly flops on them and was fiercely protective of them as his own property. Ahh, love...it truly is longsuffering.
What a lovely exchange bag - it turned out beautifully. And the April piece for your sister is gorgeous - I love those VS needleroll designs :)
Oh WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! That recipe is in French, and I can't translate!! Any chance of putting it on here in English??
