I did not know Andrea beforehand, but as soon as Jo, who organized the exchange (thanks Jo!), sent me her name and blog address, I evidently started to stalk her.
I was very impressed by the quality and finery of her work: Andrea was certainly setting me a high standard! At the same time, I realized we seemed to have pretty similar tastes.

The design is a free alphabet by Tournicoton. You'll find the design on this website, in the category "Les entrevues de créateurs". I changed the colour scheme to use only green and a floss dyed by a French designer, Marion. The shade is Magnolia, but I find all her threads equally mouth-watering.

I made rosebud pins with Polymer Clay to go inside the case - those are all the rage among French stitchers. You can buy them of course, but I thought it might be fun to try my hand at making them myself!

Here's the whole exchange, minus a Spring-themed French stitching magazine which I bought at the last minute.

I completed all the stitching on the Petal fairy yesterday night and hope I can bead tonight! I don't know how long this will take though - I haven't done such a huge amount of beading before, since the Petal Fairy is my first large project. Any pointers on this?
Have a great day everyone!

You did a great job on the needlecase for Andrea, Isabelle, and I am SO impressed that you made your own pins - they're gorgeous! Congratulations on a great exchange :)
What a gorgeous exchange packet! That needlebook is stunning! And you actually made those gorgeous pins yourself?! WOW!
Dear Isabelle,
That needle book and the needles look absolutely to die for!
Wow you made those flowers? They are very beautifully done.
Lovely work Isabelle. Andrea has had a great swap partner in you.
Isabelle, I'm really happy to be able to read your blog again. Your gifts are lovely. The pins turned out beautiful! When I saw them I thought that you bought them. I usually see in the French stitchers' blogs and I love them. Your partner is lucky!
How beautiful! And wonderful idea with the pins!!! I shall have to try that. Did you use modeling clay?
I'd love to learn more about the pins!

Hi Isabelle, you made great things again. And thanks for the link of Tournicoton, it's a really nice one.
It must be so nice to be able to make everything you think of. I always need a design, or else I don't know where to start.
I'm planning on showing tomorrow your surprise for me on my blog.
have a nice evening
Isabelle, you are a regular Martha Steward (pre-jail, of course). What's next--churn your own butter? Build your own bed? Dye the moon?:) Double wow on the pins!
The needle case is exquisite. And you know what's really amazing? I have the exact same notepad ("Bloom Where You're Planted") in my kitchen!
So, it looks like everyone's begging for a pin-making tutorial!
BTW, have you opened Beloved Disciple yet?
Wonderful job on your exchange...it is lovely!!!

good luck with beading Petal :)
Great job on the needlebook Isabelle!! I sure wish I had sewing talents! Since I don't, I don't get to participate in the fun of all of these exchanges. But I do enjoy watching and living vicariously.
I love the soft colors in this needlebook Isabelle! Very nice job. :D
Thanks too for the link!
Lovely work!
I'll have some photos to post today - at last!=)
