After a whole Saturday morning (9 am-1pm ) spent at a conference on the author my PhD is about, I've been busy sewing a dress for the rest of the weekend. So happy to be sewing again! And for myself too.
I'm looking forward to seeing it all finished and to telling you about it.
Besides, it has helped me sleep better last night... A good night's sleep is such a relief. Thank you all so much for your comforting messages! I can't believe how caring you are. If only I could hug each one of you!

Glad to hear you managed a good night, Isabelle! That certainly makes the day better. Great list! I love soup too - growing up my mother made soup every Saturday evening. She would go through the fridge and throw all the left overs in a pot and add water - voila!! The best soup in the world!
Isabelle - its amazing!! We have 2 things in common (well more, but 2 major ones!!)
First, like you, I do not have a TV!
Secondly, I loooooove soup - it was spooky but take a look at the end of today's blog entry for news of what I am cooking for dinner tonight. Lots of love Ali xxx
So glad to hear you slept well! Hope it is just the beginning...!
Oaky, so what I am supposed to do? I'm being tagged? And guess what's on the stove? Soup! It's White Chicken Chili. A humongous pot of it. A friend's neighbor's 17 year old son was in a car accident last Wednesday. The mom hasn't been home except once to shower. She must be needing a homemade bowl of comfort food, don't ya think? Glad you had a good night's slee, my friend. God answered my prayer for you!
I guess I should have said the mom's been at the hospital round the clock at her heavily sedated son's ICU bedside.
Oh, congrats on a decent night of sleep!!
So glad to hear you slept better Isabelle, hopefully it will stay that way. I loved the packages you sent, did you get my email?
Seems we have more in common than our stitching and feline friends. I love Florence (been there once), am really fond of bread and chocolate (not necessarily together, though they make a stunning combination), I've been to Ireland as well for vacation and would love to go back. As for the TV, I have one and put it to good use LOL.

We seem to share the same love for English... Isn't it a beautiful language, so precise and deliciously sounding?
What is your PhD about?
Looking forward to seeing your dress: though I hate sewing, I like seeing what people can do...
Glad you had a better night, and hope it goes on!
Lots of hugs!
That's so funny. I was talking to the dude about this meme and I asked for his top 4 movies. Then when I said BBC's P&P he told me it wasn't a movie. Seems like one to me. Great (PhD) minds think alike!
oh you managed to have a decent night's sleep. how wonderful!
What a joy to read about your life and interests. I'm looking forward to seeing your dress if you post a picture of it. So you lived in the our sunny south for a while...how nice. I was surprised to read that..smile. Glad too, that you had a good night's rest. May there be many more.
I wish you had been my French professor, Isabelle! Maybe then I wouldn't have taken a total of 8 years of French class, all in vain? :)
