Hi friends! Thank you all for your well wishes. I'm not a lot online... I thought I'd be working but in the end I really need a break. So I'm merely spending my time talking with my family, reading, stitching, and decorating the house! It's so good to relax.
San and I met in the center of our hometown on Tuesday morning. We wanted to explore a few stitching shops and above all to catch up on each other. She gave me the cutest felt kitty ever, who was sleeping in a pouch sewn with tiny kitty buttons.
The funniest thing is that I bought a package with the same buttons on that very morning, before she gave me the pouch. Talk about knowing my tastes!
I also bought a small kit to stitch a gift for my grandmother (who raises hens and chickens in her backyard); it's stitched over one but as it's half stitch with two threads, (and as I have some time!!), I'm almost done. I love the subtle shades (for the chicken's body, there are 3 different shades of yellow + some white).
And I chose a little something for Ann who totally surprised me by sending me a gorgeous card, a Christmas cross-stitch leaflet and an online pattern of a kitty. Thank you Ann!! What a nice surprise! I was really touched. Let me also take this opportunity to thank you for leaving always kind and thoughtful comments over here. I really appreciate each and everyone of them, and it would be just great if you had your own blog where we could interact more equally (I always feel that you're the giver of comments and never the receiver)!
I'll send you something in the New Year.
Finally I can show you some of the gifts to my online friends that have already been received, a bit everywhere in the world.
A second after I'd taken that shot, Violette jumped on the sofa and lay a proprietary paw over the gifts.
She is always immensely interested in what I make; but the trouble is that she always consider them as gifts for her - and is quite disgruntled when I take them away! I don't think she'll ever forgive me for taking my sister's fleece quilt away from her. It was so obviously her property!!

(And you can see that she looks almost twice as big as in the summer - although she tends to eat less!! This is due to the fur she develops in winter - quite amazing!)
A couple of gifts haven't arrived yet, though - I'm especially wondering about an envelope that I sent to Ohio more than two weeks ago... Has anyone from Ohio received a tiny gift from Paris? (don't want to spoil the surprise!)

Hugs everyone!! Enjoy your Christmas preparations!

Isabelle, that is so typical of a cat to immediately think "oh, that's nice ... a present for meeeee!!" Violette looks adorable and she is a real poser :-)
Enjoy yourself over Christmas, put your feet up and relax - after such a busy year, you deserve it. Christmas hugs and happy wishes, Alison xx
Loveeeeee all your gifts and ornaments you have... They are simply gorgeous. I wish i could have them too... snatch snatch...:)
Hi Isabelle!
Every time I post a comment on a blog, I see your name, cute photo, and everkind comments as well! I thought it would be time to get to know each other! So after reading San's post, I decided to read yours...
You're faster than me: I haven't made a pic of San's gifts yet. This cat is so amazing! I really have to make a post TODAY!
I'm a cat lover, so you won't be surprised if I tell you that I have fallen in love with Violette! She's extremely beautiful! Is she a special race, or simply gifted by Mother Nature?
My cat, Phoebe, is also very very interested in my stitching and knitting... Aren't they great companions?!
I wish you a very happy holiday, and all the best for the year to come. I'll come back to read you soon.
Take care!
Awww.... How sweet is Violette? She really does claim your projects, doesn't she? I just want to bury my face in her fur!
"Lay a proprietary paw"--love that line! You're such a wordsmith. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Violette this time! That fur doubles her size, huh? Glad you're relaxing. I have a friend like your San, who lives in Kansas. She is Barb. Without any knowledge of the other's doing, she and I bought the same comforter for our beds, the same oval picture frame with the same floral print in it, and one other thing (can't rememeber). It's almost freaky, really. OH, and yes, your new felt kitty is insanely cute. I just adore that expression on his little face!
Happy Holidays to you and your family. I really enjoy reading your blog everyday to see what you have made new,(even if I don't comment each time:)} you are very talented and inspiring.Have a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year! sincerely a well wisher,Ammal.
Hi Isabelle - sounds like you had a fun day with San :-) The gifts you made for others look wonderful - but looks like Violette really wanted to keep them for herself!! LOL

Glad you had a wonderful visit with San, Isabelle. Her gifts are delightful, as are the ones that you have sent all over the world. You are such a sweetheart; isn't the wonderful spirit of giving at this time of year just so moving? HUGE hugs to you, my friend. I hope that you have a beautiful, blessed Christmas!
Hi Isabelle, the gifts you made are great as ever. the world is a more pleasant place to be with such nice gifts everywhere...

Hi Isabelle. Happy Holidays to you! I also have not had lots of time on the computer--it is so hard to get everything ready! Very lovely gifts you have stitched too!!!
Bonjoir!! My first visit to your blog. Very creative, proves your skills. i know little french though i almost live far away from france!! Wish you a Merry Christmas! Aurevoir.... : )
the cat/bag is adorable and the gifts you made are very well done. My female cat had the same ideas with some of my projects when I was sitting on the couch. she tried to claim quilt tops, any fabric, feet, tried to hatch floss, telephones, remotes and steal anything that glittered. She even picked up one of the mice in cap (gnome cap) and took off with it. She did it with some floss as well. Of course by the time I got them back from her, they couldn't be used.
I really enjoy reading your blog and see see what you have made new,I love all of them,
And Violette is very beautiful.

I forgot to wish you a Merry Christmas in my earlier comment. I hope you'll experience all the joy of holiday!
ROTFLMAO - oh Violette is so gorgeous ... I think most cats have that nature - our old Rio was the same ... you just had to start doing something like reading the newspaper and he'd come and sit fair square in the middle of it - I really miss having a cat around the place! Your gifts are just beautiful, and I'm sure very gratefully received :)
Very best wishes for Christmas, and hope 2006 is a year where all your hopes and dreams come true :)) {hugs}
