I spent last weekend at my parents' in Lille. It was not very fun. And this, among other things, is making me feel low in spirits at the moment.
Fortunately, my reason for going to Lille was also (and should I say, foremost
) because San was spending her holidays there. And I wouldn't have missed that opportunity to meet her! Especially since my chance to go with her to the Alexandra Palace show in London in October is narrow, due to PhD constraints (too complicated to be narrated here).San had a lovely surprise for me... She gave me the needlecase she made a few weeks ago. I had found it so cute when I first saw it on her blog - but little did I know that she made it for me! It is so precious. I keep it on my desk so I can see it while I'm working - it brings a smile to my face every time! Thanks again San. Nothing could have pleased me more!
Stitching news: I must have stitched 3 hours on Petal Fairy since the last picture. This is thanks to my dear Seb who has agreed that I leave the light on when we watch a movie.
I wanted to share a picture but the camera's batteries are down, I need to reload them first... I'll edit this post later with a picture of the Fairy.
Sewing news: nothing. But I'd better get going: my father and my little sister both have their birthdays in the beginning of September.
I would like to make at least a wallhanging for either of them. Not to speak of clothes for me - I do need a few new things for Fall. I want to make at least a sheath and a box-pleated skirt.Although right now, I'd rather feel like sewing Summer things... It is so hot in Paris!
Hard to believe that many Americans have been having such foul weather...
American friends, our thoughts are with you.

The needlecase is really lovely. What a nice to surprise to see it and admire it and then it is given to you! It has been warm here, too, and I am looking forward to Fall. But really I can't complain as the folks in Lousiana and Mississippi are having horrible times!! I feel terrible for those people who have lost everything!
Welcome back, Isabelle. Your gift from San is darling. I'm actually set to stitch 2 of these for gifts and maybe a tird for myself. ;)
And it really does seem to be so unfair that how time flies when your enjoying yourself and then time slooooowwss down when your not!
Hope to see the gifts for your family. Happy stitching.
Aw, San spoilt you real good - very sweet! Dying to see that Petal Fairy update!
the needlebook is precious. What a sweet expression ; ) Nice prize for your stitching basket.
