Took a small Stitching Break :)

I was feeling exhausted yesterday, as our cat had been asking - demanding, should I say! - to play and cuddle all night long, for the second night in a row...
Therefore I didn't manage to get much work done, but... Besides my work, I also had to get going on my sisters's birthday gifts... So I finally got to stitch the kit from the Victoria Sampler "Beyond Cross-stitch" series I had bought for her. All in all, I don't feel I really wasted my time after all, despite the crappy state I was in. My sister's birthday is next Fiday, so this
had to be done!

"Periwinkle" from VS Beyond Cross-stitch, Level 4

Sorry the picture isn't too good... I should have laid the piece onto a white background. I plan to finish it as a mini-pillow or ornament, so I'll take a better pic then.

I immensely enjoyed stitching this! I want to try more of those specialty stitches!
The next "specialty stitch" chart on my list is The Orchard, which Carol sent me so generously a few weeks ago... I'd have loved to start with it Carol! But... I purchased this kit from Victoria sampler especially for my sister's birthday, so that was an emergency case!

Kitty kindly let us sleep tonight, so I got up at seven and started working already! Back to work now! I'd love to crochet a purse for my sister too, so I really need to get done with that dissertation as soon as possible!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Hi Isabelle

You are up and working early for a Sunday.

Wow this one looks complicated! Aren't the colours pretty? It'll look so good finished as a cushion. Your sister will love it!

Isabelle, your VS finish looks really adorable. I am a VS fan, all those different stitches are so cute :) It's pure fun trying them out. I'm sure your sissy is going to appreciate it :)

Don't remind me about working on the dissertation. I really should start, but I'm so unmotivated LOL. The wetaher got better here and I enjoy just walking with DD and stitching in the evenings and I simply have no time to work LOL. But I need to deliver a model and at least one chapter in July, so I should stop procrastinating :)

Thank you so much for your comment, it means so much to me. And of course I'm going to visit Paris as soon as only possible. I feel an urge to go somewhere, all alone at best, so who knows...

Your VS came out so lovely! Great work! The Orchard will be very easy for you compared to this one!!!!

That was such a lovely thing you did for Karen, by the way! You are such a sweetie!

Hi,
Special stitches are so fun to do. I Understand you when I begin to do something with it I want to do only that. Your design is really beautifull and the next one seems to be really nice too.
Bye
Alfine

I hadn't seen this blog before, so I'm a bit late with my comment. But it's lovely. I want to try new stitches too, but there always seems anything else more importannt.
Your sister is lucky to get such a nice gift.
