New fabric!

I got some new cross-stitch fabric today: 28-ct evenweave in antique white, on which I plan to stitch Margaret Sherry's Crafty Cat, and a stunning silver-speckled piece of aida... I've never had such a "fancy" fabric before!
...And here's a close-up for you to see the sparkles better

Now I'd love to know...What would you stitch on it?

... That fabric shall have to wait a little though... I'm so busy with my work, and I need to complete two gifts by the beginning of September, for my father's and my sister's birthdays ... I've now embroidered two blocks for my father's quilt - this stemstitch is taking me FOREVER...
It should turn out nice, though, and I really want to please him, so I'll persevere!
Better get back to it now...

Crafty Cat has no fractionals or squashed stitches... so you can easily stitch it on aida. That's what I did!!!

I actually have some of that silvery fabric and I stitched my "Coffee is Magic" on it. It turned out great! It's so sparkly and gives it a magical touch! I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it! - Kim (rmayfaire)

Hi :)
I have a couple of pieces of sparkly aida too and I haven't figured out what to stitch on it yet either! It's so beautiful I want to just frame it and hang it LOL
One of mine has rainbow colored sparkles all through it, and I thought of stitching a carousel on it.
I enjoy reading your Blog and have added you to my blogs to read list on my blog... hope you don't mind?

I just need to know where everyone is getting Sherry's Crafty Cat, this is the one with the cat mixed in the floss? I've seen this finished and I love it but where is it found????

PS. I love your embroidery - everytime I try to do stem stitch I end up getting smaller and smaller and i never go anywhere! Great job!

Hi Nicole, Crafty Cat was published in issue 135 of The Crossstitcher, in June 2003. HTH :)
(ps: just wondering... Do you have a blog too? If you do I'd love to check it out!)

Thanks for telling me, San! For some dumb reason I thought the fractionals were Sherry's hallmark and that all her designs had some! Thanks for the heads up, it means I can save the fabric for another project and stitch the kittie on plain Aida :o)

Thanks so much, I've jotted down the mag name so I can keep an eye out and try to get it some time (like I need more to stitch in my to do pile ) :)

My blog is no where as interesting as yours but I've changed my settings so my profile is visible if you click my name. :) I really enjoy reading your blog - keep up the good work!
